Stanton DeFreitas gained this knowledge about the world as a child, when he grew up in the extremely diverse Scarborough section of Toronto. Having been exposed to a wide variety of traditions and cultures taught him that cooperation and learning from each other makes everyone better. Staying in a bubble, around people who are just like you, is no way to experience life. Being successful requires an effort on the part of each person to broaden their horizons and range of experience. Thinking of yourself as a citizen of the world, rather than the citizen of a country, or a city, will make for a greater life experience.
