Future Writer Stanton DeFreitas

Stanton DeFreitas was born and raised in the highly diverse Scarborough section of Toronto, Ontario, and he thinks that set the tone for the rest of his life, in a good way. There is no doubt in his mind that he received tremendous benefit from being raised in an environment in which he, a Canadian citizen of Caribbean heritage, managed to see and participate in the activities of so many different cultures. That level of diversity, which came from one of the most diverse cities in Canada and the world, served to positively influence his career as an international business consultant.

Because of his upbringing, Stanton DeFreitas developed the point of view that everyone, wherever they come from, is a citizen of the world. Based on that view, he believes everyone in the world should work harder to broaden their horizons in every way. Not just in a business sense, either. They should do so spiritually, academically and culturally, as well.

This is the approach that Stanton DeFreitas uses during his global business travels and it has served to make him a lot more than an entrepreneur. Ultimately, he wants to become a writer. He believes he can communicate to people in a very real way about the issues he believes are most important to society. Among the subjects he feels he has to write about include international current events, international travel, international sports and personal health and wellness. He wants to convey to people that everyone can work better together, among all the cultures of the world. Some cultures may have solutions to another culture's problems, but we'll never know if we stay within ourselves. We have to open ourselves up to everything the world has to offer.
